Who I am
My name is Andreas Schubert. I am a Microsoft Data Platform & Azure consultant living north of Munich, Germany. I help companies effectively manage large scale data environments, focusing on reliability, security and performance.
Having been in IT for more than 25 years, I founded my first boutique consulting company in 2003.
I am married to a beautiful wife and I have a son.

What I do
Consulting
I excel at operating Microsoft Data Platform based systems at scale. Managing tens and hundreds of interconnected SQL Services in hybrid and multi-cloud environments is challenging without the right set of automation and best practices.
Architecture consulting
I am architecting environments for complex, real-time processing IOT solutions based on Microsoft Azure (mostly) and Amazon AWS, leveraging 25+ years of experience in system design and implementation.
I also guide customers on baselining, sizing and overall systems architecture for new SQL Server environments, including the most suitable hardware components based on the actual business requirements.
DBA / DRE
I have a proven track record of operating instances ranging from small servers with few databases to multi-node 24/7 business critical servers with 100s of TB of active data in geographically dispersed locations.
Development
To reach the level of automation I aim for, I often develop custom tailored tools. I speak C#, GoLang, a bit of Python, R and of course SQL, including Reporting, Analysis and Integration Services as well as PowerBI.
Most of my helper tools are written in Powershell though, since it gives me the flexibility and reusability I like.
